Preply Promo Code 2026: Every Discount Preply Actually Offers

Preply doesn't publish a list of promo codes. Its own discounts page says new codes go out by email after you create an account. Two offers work without a code. Opening Preply through our partner link gives you 50% off a lesson, applied at checkout as long as you book before leaving the site. And Preply's own site documents three discounts: 70% off your first trial lesson through a referral link, 15% off your first monthly payment if you're a university student, and up to two free trial replacements if your first tutor isn't right.

Codes like JUSTINANDALINA50 or DAN50 circulate on coupon sites. Preply's site and help center don't mention any of them, so treat them as unconfirmed. We checked every offer below on Preply's own pages on October 14, 2026.

How Preply pricing works in 2026

The pricing model changed, and many older coupon pages still describe the old one. You can no longer buy single lessons or one-off packages. Preply now works by subscription:

• You book a paid trial lesson (25 or 50 minutes) with a tutor. Each tutor offers one trial per student, and it's charged when you book.
• If you like the tutor, you subscribe. You're billed every 28 days for a fixed number of lessons with that tutor, with a minimum of 4 lessons per cycle and plans from 1 to 5 hours a week.
• You can change the plan size, pause renewal or cancel at any time. Checkout adds a processing fee and any taxes on top of the lesson price.

Tutors set their own rates. On Preply's Spanish tutors page, prices run from $3 to over $40 per lesson, and Preply puts the average at $17. The tutors it lists first tend to cost more: the top picks we saw were $26 to $45 for a 50-minute lesson. Filtering by price and reading reviews is the most reliable way to save, more than any code.

The referral discount: 70% off your first trial

This is the largest discount Preply documents. If someone who already uses Preply sends you their invite link and you sign up through it, 70% comes off your first trial lesson at checkout. You don't enter a code.

The conditions, from Preply's help center:

• You must be a brand-new user. If you ever created a Preply account before, even without using it, you don't qualify.
• The discount only works with tutors who charge $7 an hour or more.
• It expires 90 days after you sign up.

The person who invited you gets Preply credit once you confirm your first subscription lesson, not at sign-up or after the trial. Preply's discounts page mentions $50 in credit, but its help center says the amount varies with your local currency.

Ask a friend who uses Preply for their link before you sign up. Our link is a partner link, not a referral link: it carries the 50% offer above, not the 70% referral rate. Preply's promotion terms allow one promotion per account, so pick whichever applies to you.

Preply student discount: 15% off

University students anywhere in the world can get 15% off the first payment of a monthly subscription. Sign up through Preply's student discount page with your university email address, book a trial, then subscribe. High school students aren't eligible, and Preply notes that the discount sometimes fails to apply automatically, in which case its support team adds it.

If your first tutor isn't a good fit

Preply's guarantee is a free switch, not a free first lesson. If a trial doesn't work out, ask for a replacement: you get a new trial with a different tutor at 100% off. Each account gets up to two replacements, and they're not available once you've started a subscription with that tutor.

Refunds on subscriptions are discretionary. Preply may refund a billing cycle if you cancel, haven't used any of its lessons and ask within 28 days of the charge.

How to pay less on Preply

1. Get a referral link from a friend who already takes lessons, before you create an account.
2. Use the student discount if you're at university. You can't count on combining it with other offers, since Preply's promotion terms allow one promotion per account.
3. Filter by price. Plenty of experienced tutors charge under $20 a lesson, especially for widely taught languages.
4. Start with a small plan. The minimum is 4 lessons per 28 days, and you can upgrade later.
5. Use your replacements instead of subscribing to a tutor you're unsure about.
6. Watch your inbox after signing up. That's where Preply sends its own promo codes.

The subscription model is the trade-off: if you only want occasional lessons, a pay-per-lesson marketplace fits better.
